Survivors Poetry Open Mic 25th July, 6:00-10:00 PM

The Survivors Poetry Open Mic is now only one day away.

Due to the high interest to the event we are now setting an extra stage/performing area to allow more people to read and/or play.
Jazzman John Clarke will host the main stage in the Wentworth-Stanley Hall.
John Stiles will compere the other space, which we called the "Quiet Area". This is located behind the chapel and creates good natural sound quality, perfect for acoustic sets.
Come along to the Wentworth-Stanley Hall for a free cup of tea mingle and socialising from 6pm when doors open. A paying bar is located just outside the hall.

Entrance to the site is now from the far East gate. Follow the signpost or ask for directions.

A final list of the performers can only be completed on the night itself. It is advisable to turn up early to confirm a time slot and check if there's more available.

Here some of our confirmed acts:

FREE - ONE - OFF - SURVIVORS CELEBRATION - Thu 25th July, 6-10pm St Clements Hospital

Dear Friends,

The Outsider Poetry event is getting closer; only one week away! The open mic invitation is receiving a very good response and there is already a long list of confirmed acts with poetry, music and performing arts.
We would like to encourage people that have stories to tell about the old hospital and what the social club meant to them to come along and share with us.
Either performing or attending an event in a closed and derelict mental health hospital grounds is a chance unlikely to repeat for the locals and non.

We need help in order to let the evening run smoothly and allow us all to have a fun and enjoyable time.
if you can help in making coffees, tidying up chairs, direct visitors from the gates to the hall or you say what, please get in touch or just come along.
We aim to be all set up by 6pm next Thursday the 25th. Any help and contribution kindly welcome!
Light refreshments will be available as well as a pay bar.

We hope to have clear signposts for people that are not familiar with the hospital.
The Wentworth-Stanley Hall is located in St Clements Hospital grounds, 2a Bow Road, half way between Mile End and Bow Church/Bow Road stations.
The red gates of this landmark are hard to be missed; there will certainly be someone at the entrance to offer help and directions if needed.

"Soft" Opening, as mentioned on the Shuffle event program, takes place tomorrow evening 7-11pm.
